Huw W. Hampson Jones
Huw graduated with a degree in Political Theory and Government from the University of Wales, Swansea. He began his career with the Unilever Group - as a Graduate Personnel Management Trainee at Port Sunlight. Personnel Management roles with European responsibilities followed - at Philips Industries and Harris Corporation of the US. Later, Huw transferred to Sales Management with Harris and moved to work with McDonnell Douglas Information Systems in a European business development role.
In 1990 he joined Siemens where he eventually became Senior Vice President, Line of Business Telecommunication for Siemens Business Services AG. Having worked for Siemens for 10 years, Huw moved to work in Sweden (1999-2009) where he specialised in high technology company development for European venture capitalists. He was involved in successfully leading the trade sales of both iD2 Technologies AB and Mobeon for $250m and 350m SEK respectively. In April 2010, Huw joined OXIS Energy Ltd.
Dr David A. Ainsworth
Since joining OXIS Energy as a Research Scientist in 2009, David has held a number of roles within the technical team including being responsible for the safety and performance testing of OXIS Energy’s Li-S cell technology.
In 2005 he graduated with an M.Chem degree in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews. During his degree he completed a 12 month placement at Infinium Ltd working to develop new jet fuel additives before returning to university to complete a research project on new materials for Lithium-Ion batteries. He then continued this research as a post graduate, completing a PhD in 2009 entitled “Crystalline Polymer and Small Molecule Electrolytes” in the research group of Prof Peter Bruce.
David took up the role of CTO at Oxis Energy in January 2013 and is responsible for managing the R&D team, and developing OXIS Energy’s Li-S Technology into commercial products.
Chris Murray joined OXIS Energy in the Autumn of 2010. With over 20 years of international experience, Chris has worked as a CFO/COO for major blue chip companies such as Siemens AG and private equity/venture capital backed SMEs within the IT, internet, and mobile telecommunication industries. Originally from Boston, Chris gained his BA in Accounting and Computer Services from Salem State College, MA USA and has lived in Germany and the UK since 1994.
Dr Mark Crittenden
Mark holds a first-class Masters degree, a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham and is a Chartered Engineer. He worked at Nanometrics, managing the development of several materials characterisation and metrology tools for the semiconductor industry, from inception through to full production. He later worked at Research Machines in the roles of New Product Introduction Manager and Programme Manager. He joined OXIS Energy in January 2012 as Head of Business Development, commercialising the game-changing Lithium Sulfur technology. He is now Head of Battery Development and Integration.
Dr Adrien Amigues
Adrien joined OXIS Energy in 2016 after having completed his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, UK. Before that, he graduated with a Masters degree in Energy Storage and Conversion from the Universities of Warsaw (Poland), Amiens (France) and Córdoba (Spain) and a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Bordeaux (France).
He started as a Research Scientist within the company, working on sulfur/carbon based cathodes for the development of high energy density batteries. Adrien took up the role of Intellectual Property Manager in May 2018 and is responsible for the growth and effective management of the company’s impressive IP portfolio.
Alison joined OXIS in 2018 and has a wealth of knowledge and experience as a Human Resource Manager. She attended the University of Law, London followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management at Oxford Brookes University. In 2009 she obtained Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Honours Degree in Law from University of Buckingham and in 2011 attended BPP Law School, London for Postgraduate Diploma in Vocational Training for the Bar.
Dr Mark Wild
Mark received his PhD in Organic Synthesis and BSc Hons in Chemistry and Biochemistry at University of Wales, Bangor and more recently,an MBA from The Open University. Over the past 15 years his career has been associated with process development, scale up and improvement of products for both the pharmaceutical and battery industries.
He joined Oxis in 2012 and recently became a production manager for a vibrant and growing department withinthe company.. He scaled up electrolyte manufacture from grams to 100L and was technical lead for the revolutionary vehicle battery programme (REVB) for 2 years.
Mark has a growing publication list which contributes to the general understanding of Lithium Sulfur batteries and their application.
Michael joined HM Forces as an Apprentice in 1974 and went on to complete over 23 years’ service, leaving in 1997
Mike’s career path swiftly moved into Health, Safety, and Environmental Management. He worked on Food & Retail Contracts with ISS Food Hygiene until early 2001.
Later, in the same year Mike joined ISS Defence / MOD contracts as an Area Manager and in 2007moved to Interserve, as the QSHE Advisor to the Department of Health FM Contract where he also trained as one of the Divisional Behavioural Safety Coaches. Between, 2010 – 2012, Mike was responsible for the HS&E mobilisations for some of the National and Local Government FM Accounts won by Interserve, with clients such as DSA / VCA, MOD and Local Government Council Contracts in the London boroughs of Lewisham, Sutton & Wandsworth.
In 2012, Mike became Compliance Manager for the newly formed MITIE Compliance business where he worked with its IT Programmers developing their Compliance Audit database for bespoke Statutory H&S & Fire based Audits.
Mike joined OXIS Energy in 2014.
Guillaume De Forton
Guillaume was born in France and studied in London and Brussels where he gained a MA in International Business at the ICHEC Management School. This was followed by two year long internships with CECTEK in Taiwan and SINBON Electronics in Shanghai, China. He then became Area Sales Manager for Alphamin SA in Belgium before moving to XNC Energy where he was Sales Director. Guillaume joined OXIS Energy in January 2015 where his extensive experience in international sales helps him manage customer accounts and business development. He speaks French, English, German, Mandarin and Spanish and is the main contact for sales enquiries.
Ruth joined OXIS in 2010 to manage the move from the Innovation Centre to the current premises in Culham Science Centre, and to provide support for the evolving 5 year plan which formed the basis of the company business plan.
Her expertise in project management has helped the company move to a more professional IT set-up, necessary for growth. Her current role as Programme Manager has seen her play a major role in the GP Batteries contract as well as co-ordinating the initial discussions for supplier collaborations.
She also works closely with the Quality Manager. Ruth has a background as a Project Manager in the software industry and worked for Siemens for many years including a time in Germany. She speaks fluent German and holds a HND in computer studies from Liverpool Polytechnic.
