In this collaboration OXIS Energy and Panacis Inc will pool their respective technologies to make life easier for the armed forces. For this project, they have earmarked the North American defence market.
Since 2002, Panacis has established itself as being an expert in the design and manufacture of battery systems for the military and for “impossible power” applications that are unmet by conventional products. This expertise can now be utilised more extensively by using the new, safe, breakthrough Polymer Lithium Sulfur technology from OXIS Energy.
According to OXIS Energy CEO, Huw Hampson-Jones, “Panacis has a well established reputation within the Canadian Government and already supplies batteries to the US Department of Defence. Both countries are members of NATO and this collaboration will allow us to exploit our respective skills, expertise and technology to make life safer, lighter and easier for our armed forces providing the assurances they need to carry out their respective duties.”
“We are delighted to be working with leading edge, new cell chemistry from Oxis,” stated Janet Mason, Panacis CEO. “Its ability to safely tolerate bullet penetration while providing light weight, high density storage makes it suitable for expeditionary renewable power applications such as solar and wind generated energy storage at forward operating bases.”
